<p>Based on Yamaha’s renowned CP3 powerplant, the new 2025 YZF-R9 boasts a dedicated supersport chassis and comprehensive electronics suite, wrapped in striking next-generation R-series styling. The new 2025 YZF-R9 was conceived to redefine the supersport class by combining track-capable performance with street bike accessibility through a broad, smooth power delivery, light handling, street-friendly ergonomics and a complete package of advanced rider aids. A machine as at home on a race circuit in the hands of a seasoned track rider as it is exploring twisty roads or urban streets in the hands of a dedicated road rider.</p>

<p>New KYB suspension units are specified – including a 43mm USD front fork with base valve and a rear shock with a new low-speed valve – the first for a motorcycle. The new shock generates linear damping for precise road holding and chassis stability.</p>

<p>Riders can link their smartphone to the new TFT display via Yamaha&#8217;s free Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music (through use of an aftermarket Bluetooth® headset, not provided). Full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Garmin® StreetCross app to make each journey easier.</p>

<p>An advanced six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is based on the proven performance of the flagship YZF-R1 superbike. Data collected from the IMU and wheel speed sensors enable a high-tech suite of rider aids including a nine-mode Traction Control System (TCS), three-mode Slide Control System (SCS), three-mode Lift Control System (LIF) and a Brake Control System (BC). Levels of intervention can be adjusted and each of these systems can also be turned off providing the ultimate versatility and control in a variety weather and surface conditions. Road riders will appreciate convenient features such as cruise control and Yamaha&#8217;s Variable Speed Limiter functions while track day enthusiasts will enjoy the Y-TRAC race settings complemented by a virtual pitboard feature that displays instructions and information from pit crew to rider in real time.</p>

<p>The Desmo450 MX was presented on the PalaCampiglio stage in the racing livery that it will sport in competition this year &#8211; in the Italian Motocross Pro &#8211; Prestige MX1 Championship &#8211; by the Ducati Corse R&amp;D &#8211; Factory MX Team managed by Corrado and Marco Maddii. Ducati say the target of this first season of racing is mainly to acquire data and information in racing to contribute to the development of the Desmo450 MX that will go into production in the second half of 2025.</p>

<p>It will be Alessandro Lupino who will take part in all the rounds of the Italian Championship, as well as in an intense testing program, in which he will be joined by Antonio Cairoli. The race debut of the Ducati Desmo450 MX is planned for March 16 and 17 in Mantua for the first round of the Italian Motocross Pro Prestige MX1 Championship.</p>

The power output and gear ratio of the 890cc CP3 engine are identical to that of the XSR900, but the front cowling structure of the XSR900 GP increases both acceleration and top speed while the ducts on the side panels efficiently discharge heat from the radiator to maximise cooling performance. The colour-matched seat cover fits over the passenger seat to complete the racer look with a boxy 1980s style rear end hiding the rear light, while a seat stopper on top of the seat cowling keeps the rider in position.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Smartphone connectivity comes as standard on the XSR900 GP via a built-in Communication Control Unit (CCU), ensuring riders can stay connected while riding by linking their smart phone with their machine via the free MyRide Link app. As well as seeing call and message notifications on the 5in TFT display, a new dimension is added to the ride by the possibility of taking calls and listening to music via a Bluetooth headset (not included). Once connected, riders can also make use of the integrated Garmin StreetCross navigation system which will display Turn-By-Turn navigation on the 5in TFT dashboard. There is also the option to provide power to external devices by the new USB Type C socket located near the dashboard.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>New ergonomic switchgear</strong><br />
</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">New integrated handlebar switch assemblies enable the rider to operate the wider range of functions of the new XSR900 GP including smartphone connectivity, navigation and riding modes as well as interrogating the various menu options. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">To aid navigation of busy road environments, a softclick of the indicator switch will flash the turn signals three times for use when lane-changing or when only brief indication is required. A full-click of the switch will result in continuous flashing until 15 seconds has passed and when the machine has travelled more than 150 metres. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">A new Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) function reacts to sudden braking by engaging the hazard lights to warn road users behind the vehicle is stopping at speed in an emergency situation.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Extra support from advanced six-axis IMU with lean sensitive rider aids</strong><br />
</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Developed directly from the electronic systems on the R1, the XSR900 GP’s high-tech six-axis IMU constantly measures acceleration in the forward-backward, up-down and left-right directions – as well as the angular velocity in the machine’s pitch, roll and yaw directions. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The six-axis IMU is able to send data in real time to the ECU which controls the suite of electronic rider aids, including the lean sensitive Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS) as well as a front wheel Lift Control System (LIF) and Brake Control System (BC).</span></p>

The intake transfers have increased from five to seven for improved thermodynamics. A redesigned reed valve system has been employed for optimised atomisation and increased power at low revs.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The engineers then added the most compact five-speed gearbox on the market, completely redesigned, 500 grams lighter with ratios optimised for graded trial sections from one to five. They then paired it with a more compact gear selector system. 28 per cent lighter than before with aluminium selector forks directly articulated on the selector drum. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">A newly designed 2-piece clutch cover is constructed from magnesium and features an integrated oil-level inspection window and a simplified transmission oil fill point. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Behind the trick, new cover sits a diaphragm clutch system which offers users three different positions of modulation adjustment and revised internal components for improved comfort and control.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A new modernised front headlight shell design preserves Sherco&#8217;s brand identity and creates styling synergy between Sherco&#8217;s Trials and other off-road product ranges. Behind the headlight shell sits the two map switches, which have been relocated and grouped for improved protection and user convenience. The rear fender design has been updated to match the front fender&#8217;s profile, achieving improved mud evacuation.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A new 2.2L fuel tank featured an integrated ultra-compact fuel pump developed by Sherco that features a bypass recovery sub-tank to prevent fuel loss. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The air filter box volume has been increased by 7 per cent combined with a new, 11 per cent larger air filter element resulting in increased power at low revs, increased torque, and improved engine response.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">GasGas have unlocked a little more power from the compact MC 450F motor by adding a lightweight Akrapovič Slip-On Line exhaust system, giving significantly improved torque and an overall performance boost. Quick and easy changes in the power delivery can be made thanks to a handlebar mounted Map Select Switch.</span></p>

For additional comfort, GasGas have fitted softer ODI Lock-On grips and installed a TLD Factory Racing seat cover, to keep you firmly in place while getting on the gas.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The machine comes fitted with their Factory Wheels, in black. Rock solid and super-cool looking, they’re fitted with Dunlop’s Geomax MX33 tyres. GasGas also bolted a Semi-floating Front Disc to the front wheel to improve braking performance with a Front Brake Disc guard keeping the disc safe and out of harm’s way.</span></p>

From front to back, there’s a Factory Start Device, Neken handlebars, a Composite Skid Plate, Hinson Clutch Cover, a red Frame Protection Kit, a black Rear Sprocket, and a gold chain. Plus, to keep on top of service intervals, they have installed an Hour Meter, so you’ll never lose track of just how many hours you’ve spent on this awesome bike.</span></p>
